University of Hawaiʻi Athletics received a major boost Wednesday as five prominent Hawaiʻi donors and organizations announced a combined $5 million commitment over the next five years to support student-athlete Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities.

Joshua Walker laughed as he reflected on becoming the next head coach of the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine volleyball program.

The Rainbow Wahine program traces its roots to 1972 and has become one of the most successful and recognizable brands in collegiate volleyball. Over more than five decades, only three people have held the position Walker now assumes.
